Went to the Marlin’s game with son Steven. We lost to Tampa 7 to 2. Our team is simply not competitive. I keep going because I love ballparks and baseball and I spend time, most frequently, with family, but other than Alcantara our team is just not major league caliber.

I loved President Biden’s speech today. He is getting stronger and stronger, and his timing is great. Of course, the Republicans keep making serious mistakes almost daily so they are giving the Democrats huge targets to shoot at.
Biden deserves far better support than he is getting. I do not agree with everything he has done, but no thinking citizen can agree with everything. On balance, however, Biden has done a great job and done so with no help at all from the Republicans.
Like Biden or not, it should be clear that he cares about this Country, our Democracy and everyone in it. There is not a chance in the world that Trump would even have thought about giving the kind of speech Biden gave today. Trump never cared and never will care about anything but himself.

It was almost midnight before D. O. J. filed its response to Trump’s motion for appointment of a Special Master. I read it quickly, but saw enough to conclude the argument against Trump is compelling.
On first reading, the point that struck me was that Trump lacks standing to bring the motion. The documents seized do not belong to him. They belong to our government. I thought of the bank robber who stole all assets in the safe deposit boxes, took them home and then complained when they were found and taken back.
Trump’s papers are due today and a hearing is set for Thursday afternoon. I can see that schedule changing but. I hope not.

Trump finally did add a seasoned lawyer to his legal team, but he will probably lose the two lawyers who lied to the D. O. J. that all records are now turned over. At the very least, these two lawyers will be witnesses, and if I were they, I would quit right now and “lawyer up” to try to protect my own ass.

I did not hear it, but I am told Lindsey Graham is now denying he said what millions of people heard him say. Trump must have pictures of him screwing an underaged goat.

There just has to come a time very soon when all the Republicans running for office conclude that Trump’s support is far more of a liability than it is an asset. As a staunch Democrat, I would prefer that it take up until the election for this realization to occur.
Deep red States will stay that way, but the Democrats should get stronger with every passing day. The difference, I think, is that the big stories in the news are so big that they will stay big even beyond the November election. Heretofore, most issues have their day in the sun and then fade.
Treason, Obstruction of Justice, inciting an attempted coup, a woman’s right to choose, are issues that are not going away so fast.
I hear the Republican National Committee, which has paid Trump’s legal fees, is not paying for the stealing of classified documents fiasco. Do not be surprised if this forces Trump to tighten his belt in terms of what he gives to others.
