At the risk of oversimplifying and looking naive, I am wondering the following. The Republicans, through Graham, have already filed a bill that would nationally ban abortion. They have now done what they promised to do if they take back the House and the Senate.

Any thinking person would have bet this was coming but the fact that the Republicans have done so before the election removes all speculation with respect to their intent.

My question is “Why do not the Democrats file a bill now codifying Roe v Wade? Why wait? Why not put out there for everyone to see the choice facing our country?"

Vote Democrat get reasonable abortion laws, vote Republican, get a ban on abortion. There it is folks, simple and direct.

I was watching the procession of Queen Elizabeth’s coffin from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall, and one of the British commentators talking about the scandals in the Royal Family over the past decades, made the point that despite these scandals, the Queen herself was always “beyond reproach”.

I liked that term because it helped me to understand why I hate Trump so much. He was the exact opposite of being beyond reproach. In fact, there was not a day, I think, that Trump did not commit multiple sins and breach multiple Commandments.

Now I recognize that many of our Presidents have had girlfriends and otherwise not lived a sinless life. I know no one who has not sinned. My point, however, is that I think as part of taking a leadership role comes the responsibility of trying to set a good example for others.

I think it is important to not only do one’s best to avoid improprieties, but to also try to avoid the appearance of impropriety. There are many reasons why I chose never to seek to become a judge, but one of the reasons, believe it or not, is that I love going to Vegas and I was always a gambler. I thought that I could not do that if I were a judge. Many judges do, but I feel differently.

So, going back to Trump, one reason he pisses me off so much is that he sets a very bad example for others. The way he has lived his life violates just about every principle I was taught. He is free to live the way he wants but not once he is President.

Think McConnell would like to shoot Graham.

I hear Trump is miffed about not being invited to Queen’s funeral.

I was unfriended yesterday by a reader who nastily disagreed with my views. He is not Christian unless he converted but he obviously thinks the price of groceries is more important than living in a society where white Christian heterosexual men are superior to everyone else. Feed me all the bullshit you can shovel, because I am steadfast in my views that we must recognize there is only one human race and everyone should be equal In the eyes of the law and in the minds, hearts, and souls of every person.

After further reflection, I thought it constructive to demonstrate just what has happened in our country. Here is, word for word, the post:

“How did a brilliant attorney (so far, I like it) become such a radical know-it-all? (What I know for sure is that I do not know it all). Not very comforting to read your rants and call me a 'hoodlum'. If I tight [sic] this together with our zombie of a President who said I’m a terrorist you get two name-callers who belong in grammar school. Not very United and I can only hope smart people realize the name calling does not bring unity or success. Whatever your twisted thoughts are, even you must admit $4.00 a gallon gas, 25% increase in food and material costs, a 259% increase in crime and murder with out- of-control illegal immigration and back breaking national debt increase was all Taylor [sic] made by a President who wants to destroy our country or is too dumb to realize what he has done. Unfortunately, I’m going to have to unfriend you as you have really gone over a cliff”.

Oh my! How would this man feel if his daughter’s life depended upon her having an abortion which the Republicans have banned?
