Personally, other than the stock market continuing to pummel me, Yesterday was pretty uneventful for me. My heart goes out to all devastated by the hurricane, but I reached my limit on seeing the news coverage so I turned off the television and spent most of the day reading, exercising and listening to music.

The music was principally The Mills Brothers and Christine Andreas, along with her Husband/arranger/musical director Marty Silvestri, who I regard as a great talent. One song she sang is I think the most underrated song from Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun. It is called “Moonshine Lullaby” and Christine hits a grand slam with it.

Judge Cannon continues to royally piss me off. She has no business being a member of the judiciary principally because she is treating Donald Trump differently than she would treat any other litigant who came before her. The most recent ruling is not going to change the slapping down Cannon has already received from the 11th Circuit. All her most recent ruling indicates is that she is one of those zealots willing to disregard the law for the man who appointed her.

Yeah! Just learned the DOJ has asked the 11th Circuit to speed things up, in essence appealing Cannon’s latest miscarriage of Justice.

I wish Jimmy Buffet a speedy recovery. Due to illness, he has had to cancel the rest of his present concert tour. Buffet is 75 and has brought a lot of joy to his audiences.

Will miss seeing most of Michigan v Iowa game because having a late lunch with close friends Alan and Vivian Dimond. Going to Prime Italian and I doubt I will be able to resist the turkey meatball. By the way, one can get the same great meat there as at Prime 112, considered by many the best steakhouse in South Florida.

My trainer is scheduled to come at 9 a.m. this morning. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can continue to make progress. I am particularly pleased that I am now able to walk stairs with both legs instead of being able to put weight on only one leg and walking steps on only one foot. My broken leg is now, essentially, fully mended.

Monday morning I have to go to the doctor so he can check my kidney function. I have finally been able to take off over 15 pounds of mostly water weight. Despite Barbara’s still working virtually around the clock trying to save our Democracy, she is finding time to take very good care of me.

Lots going on in Ukraine. Russia is not doing well and it looks like the momentum is going Zalensky’s way. My biggest concern is Putin. He is an unhinged maniac and very dangerous.

——————————-

Speaking of unhinged maniacs, I understand that there is significant dissension among Trump’s legal team as to how to handle the Mar-a-Lago document case. The lawyers have an impossible client but still, in a situation where anybody else would already be in jail, Trump remains free as a bird and is still talking about running for President. The situation is stranger than Dr. Strangelove.

Almost done with Mike Lupica’s latest Jesse Stone book. Looking forward to next reading The Mosquito Bowl. Check it out.

Remember 64% of all Republicans want us to be a Christian country. Happy New Year.

Remember both Rubio and DeSantis are against all abortions, even when rape or incest is involved or the Mother’s life is at risk. Got that folks: “NO ABORTIONS NO MATTER WHAT"

Pujols hit 701 last night. Judge still stuck at 61. Could be the difference in experience. Pujols has handled the limelight well for an entire career. Judge is a relative amateur.

You may think this is crazy, but often the culinary highlight of my day is the fresh squeezed orange juice I have each morning. I stopped taking Vitamin C pills, although calorie wise they are the better choice

Go Ukraine and vote as if your life depended upon it.
