Not sure when this will be posted. American delayed our flight out of Reno about half a dozen times. Writing this still sitting on ground in Reno with no guarantee we take off for Dallas. Certainly, our connection to Fort Lauderdale is in jeopardy.
Reno Airport is the first place where I was denied entrance to the Centurion Club because it was overcrowded due to all the delayed flights. I was tempted to call my Centurion Travel Agent to complain, but I thought that would be bad form.
The Marlins sure stunk it up in Baltimore. Glad I was not there .
On the other hand, the men’s final at Wimbledon went five sets and was a great match. I was up at 5:30 a.m. so I could watch the whole thing.
When I went out the front door of the Atlantis to go to the airport, it was the first time I had been outside since we arrived Tuesday. It was so hot, breathing hurt. Vegas is 20 degrees hotter. I cannot imagine anyone going outside.
On a scale of 1 to 10, the quality of the “meal” served by American Airlines in first class was minus 7. I could not identify most of what was on the tray.
And for you airline etiquette buffs, there were 16 first class seats all occupied, and a bathroom up front. Since I am on a diuretic, it is important to me to identify the closest restroom and to be able to use it promptly. Many, many times the passengers in coach used the bathroom in first class not coach. Is that appropriate? Maybe the airlines need to give a key to the first class passengers? Hell, I am not paying more for the food, so. I figure the least I am entitled to is access to the restroom.
Made it back home arriving at 2;30 a.m. Landed at last gate in Lauderdale Airport but made it without a wheelchair. Daughter Beth was a great traveling companion.
I had never gone on an airplane dressed in shorts, but most of the passengers were at least that informally dressed.
See you tomorrow. At least that is my plan.
