Monday was a sea day. On way to Easo, Lifou, New Caledonia and stay only until 4 pm. Not much to do but we will go into this port and take a look around.
Very nice day yesterday even though I lost at both trivial pursuit and poker. I spent some time looking at future ports and talking to some of the other people on the ship. Also, got in some reading.
We had no dinner plans, but I ran into the maître d' at Keller’s. He said he had a cancellation and suggested we come. Keller’s had a visiting chef whom we met and liked and he cooked a really nice sodium light meal. We drank a white wine that I liked at the last sommelier lunch and had bought Six bottles. Before I met Barbara at dinner I went to hear some music and had Perrier with some people who said I could join them.
We are now sort of settling in and enjoying the cruise more and more. As long as there is internet, Barbara is happy. She is actually meeting a number of people she likes. Don’t get me wrong, my beloved Wife is no social butterfly and she can run out of charm in an instant. Nonetheless, there are more and more people she is meeting, talking to and trying to find a time slot to see more of them.
We have today and tomorrow in ports and then three sea days until we get to Cairn, Australia. During one of those sea days I am going to give a lecture on prenuptial and post nuptial agreements. How many will attend remains to be seen. My best guess is that at least half the American passengers have prenuptial agreements.

I really like that Biden paid a surprise visit to Ukraine. The “old man” is sure showing the world that there is still gas in the tank. I, for one, am very proud he is my President. There is not a single day in Trump’s entire Presidency that I felt proud of that man.
Lest you think otherwise, I was often proud of other Republican Presidents. I also would have been proud if Republicans such as McCain or Dole had been elected. These and others were decent men. I think Romney has the stature to be President. I may piss off many of my Democratic friends but I really liked Kinsinger from the first time I heard him speak, and I have tremendous respect for Liz Cheney.
Our country needs a two party system. We do not have one at the present time. Why? Because the patients are now in charge of the asylum. The lunatic fringe has taken over.

There are some really great crew members whose contracts are up so they will be leaving our cruise at various times. From the perspective of those cruising, that is bad news. However, we have to keep in mind that these people have a life apart from ours. Some have not seen their families for months. There is not a single member of our crew who does not work their asses off. Yes, they get to travel the world but there is much more to life than that. So, yes, on the one hand, I am sad to see them go. They know my case, so to speak, and now others have step in and get to know us and our routine. However, on the other hand, these really talented nice hardworking people deserve to go off and have fun and do what they want when they want. They do not always have to smile and be nice as part of their job. I wish them all the best. Not sure we will ever be on another cruise with Seabourn or any other cruise line, but I would should love it if our paths crossed again.
