Got home from Dallas yesterday. American Airlines, for the first time in recent memory, was on time with working internet. The food was still basically inetable, but my expectations are so low, that it is almost impossible not to meet them. Even burned nuts were okay. ————————- The Fairmont, at least in Dallas, is no longer even an average hotel. Of course for $300 per night, I did not expect anything great. Nonetheless, I usually overly generous tipping the room housekeeper. This time I had to force myself to leave anything because I never saw her nor did I see any evidence there even was one taking care of my room.
And something must be said about the hotel running out of orange juice at 9 a.m. it is safe to assume that the food and beverage manager is not on top of things.
Overall, this was a great baseball trip The alcohol consumption was about 10% of what it used to be. Not a single bottle of wine was ordered and I do not recall anyone having a second drink.
These trips are beginning to remind me of a Sunshine Boys episode. Only there are five of us instead of two.
I now have no plans to travel until we go to Italy in a couple of months. That could change but nothing is presently on the books. ————————- Off to see my doctor in a few hours. Assume he will review the results of the Echo Cardiogram taken while he was on vacation. ——————————- There is no truth to the rumor, because I made this up, that Trump will not participate in the debate, but for $5 milllion he will do commentary for Fox News. ————————- Lost another colleague over the weekend. Sandy Muchnick passed away. He practiced law at a time when a lawyer’s word was his bond. We were all friends and almost everyone was honest and ethical. No one did not like Sandy. ————————— Granddaughter Harper getting settled in at University of Florida. She begins classes Wednesday.
Granddaughter Alanna getting settled in at University of Miami. She begins classes today. I never thought I would be as involved in this type of thing. I think that until the opportunity arises, one never knows. When my children were growing up, I had no time for this sort of thing. ——————————- See you tomorrow. At least that is my plan. ————————— Go Ukraine
