Bill Russell, one of the really great basketball players, died at age 88. I think the Celtics team he led was one of the great dynasties in any professional sport.

Marlins, not surprisingly, were swept by Mets. Went with Son Steven and his children, Harper and Holden. Food in PNC Club was appreciably better throughout entire series. The Mets fans around us were well behaved at least, and not nearly as obnoxious as in years past. Of course the Mets had 19 hits, but 15 of them in the first three innings, and they did it against our second best pitcher.

Val Demings is not running the kind of campaign that will beat Marco Rubio. She has plenty of money, but she is going about things ass backwards. Her main theme seems to be that Rubio does not show up for work. Her main theme should be that he shows up for work but is wrong on practically every vote.
Hammer away at Rubio's positions on Choice, Gun Control, Veterans, etc. Even a broken clock is right twice a day, but Rubio is not even right that often.

It is amazing to me, and actually downright scary, that in Ohio some polls have Vance ahead of Ryan. Vance, to be charitable, is a Neanderthal.

I heard Joe Manchin on “Meet The Press”. Manchin actually did a pretty good Damn job.
The interviewer, in my view, left a great deal to be desired.
Retiring Senator Toomey was very unimpressive.

It is pissing me off that Liza Minnelli has still not been awarded a Kennedy Center Honor. What is the Selection Committee thinking?

Those who coach politicians before they are interviewed seem to love to have the interviewee say, “That is a really good question”. That is rarely the case. I guess the experts have concluded that making that statement somehow sets a more positive tone.

Friday, I meet up with my baseball buddies in Chicago where we go to Wrigley and then on to Kansas City for our second game.
Have some work to do before I leave and I have been put in charge of doing the planning for our cruise, which begins in January. We will not go back to Italy until after the election in November, and then only for about a month.
