The story of Thursday has to be the death of Queen Elizabeth. I cannot remember a time when she was not the Queen of England. I was 12 years old. Whether one is a fan of the monarchy or not, Elizabeth was a great Queen. I doubt if there will ever be another Queen of her stature and longevity. I really had great respect for her as I think did most people.
I am surprised that I felt as badly as I did about her death. She really was extraordinary.

Trump is calling the investigation of his having highly classified documents at his home “a hoax”. That is incomprehensible, and the fact that there are still, apparently, millions who agree with him even more incomprehensible.
Besides Trump has turned out to be a whiner. There is nothing he will not say or do to try to get people to feel sorry for him. “They even went into my 16-year-old son’s room” as if doing so is so terrible. Our Former President could well have jeopardized the safety of the United States.

The D.O.J. has appealed Judge Cannon’s ruling. The 11th Circuit is no bargain having many conservative judges but there was no alternative.
Garland would never do it, but I want them to arrest Trump and start the criminal proceedings.

The meeting at our house last night was a big success. Very nice people strongly dedicated to defeating the Republicans from the top of the ticket to the bottom. It will take a huge effort but it is doable.

The Marlins actually won and by one run, scoring two runs in the top of the 9th.

Stock futures are up but things turn around quickly. I was making a good comeback until Powell stepped in and sent the market down 1000 points in one day.

Going to Dolphin game with Barbara on Sunday. Marlins play Mets tonight and tomorrow night. Will probably go with son Steven. Then, he leaves Sunday with Granddaughter Harper to look at colleges in New York and Washington.

McConnell and Trump methodically packed the Federal Judiciary over the past several years. I saw it coming and repeatedly wrote that there was no better reason to vote Democratic or bigger issue than our Judiciary, but way too few paid attention to me.
Voters, those few we had, were worried about our borders and other important issues, forgetting the basics. Think of it this way. You are building your dream house. Every detail is important, but first you better make sure you have a good foundation. If you do not, everything that is put on top of the faulty foundation crumbles.
Even though the judiciary is one of three equal branches of government, few people pay attention to it. Only when they get caught up in it does how our court system works become important to them. We got slipped one big Mickey. Now the only way to fix the damage is at the ballot box, and we could be too late there as well.
I am not exaggerating when I tell you that the election coming up in less than two months is your last chance to save our Democracy and, more, particularly, our individual rights.
If the Republicans take back the House or Senate, we are doomed. I could not be more serious.
